VW Players and Prept - Brands Hatch

Went to Brands Hatch last night to take a look at the hottest German cars this country has to offer, and tried my hand at snapping up photos while on the move... This was also my first time taking photos in overcast weather. Should have bought a tripod!

Was an amazing night; many, many cars turned up, and was great to see the cars I had only seen in pixels before.

New Site + New Name

As you can see, the site has been completely re-made. Along with the redesign comes a new name for 3Media - "The Media Dudes" - "TMD" for short.

Why the new name?

We found that having a "3" in the name gets confusing when you say it - is it 3, three or free? Also we have a .com (www.themediadudes.com) domain so its twice the win. Also there were a couple of other companies around called "3Media" and "Three Media" so it's best to be unique.

New Site Features

On TMD:
Our Youtube videos now show up on the videos page
Our flickr photos now show up on the photos page
You can now post comments on the blog (via the forum)
The forum is now integrated with the rest of the site, unlike before where it was seperate
Forum upgraded to phpbb3
On Three Radio:
Pro new header at the top of the page showing what is on air now
Rate the listen again shows from the same page you listen with just one click
The listen again shows can now be sorted by the rating instead of the date, so if youre looking for a good show to listen to its E.Z
You can see the requests you have made on the request a song page
You can cancel your requests if it hasnt been played yet
Swish new animations added when making a request, and you now still make a request even with javascript disabled
New behind the scenes stats and stuff, nothing you'd really care about (not that you probably care about all of the above)

How To: Internet Radio On Xbox 360

So picture this, you think to yourself "oh man, the DHA show is about to start, but I just got this new 360 game I want to check out". No longer a problem - now you can listen to Three Radio on your Xbox 360, from the dashboard or in-game. All it needs is a program installed on your computer and you're good to go. The only drawback is that your computer needs to be on when you want to listen.
Obviously it works with other internet radio stations as well, but this tutorial gives you the details for the best one :)
The program you need is called TVersity and is completely free. Read on for the quick tutorial on setting it up.

Download TVersity from www.tversity.com
Install Tversity

A few moments later...
Configure TVersity

If you don't want TVersity to start when your computer starts uncheck the box. TVersity can also be used to stream your photos, music and videos to your Xbox 360 as an alternative to using Windows Media Player. If you don't want it to do this uncheck the three boxes at the bottom as well. Make sure that the firewall option is checked. Then click configure.

After this you will be taken back to the installer and asked if you want to install codecs, check the box and click through the installation for the codecs. [Note: I'm not actually sure if you need to install these codecs for Three Radio to work, I wrote this tutorial whilst installing it again myself, best to install them just to be sure]. Once this is done you're ready to start using it.
[Another Note: After the installation had finished even though I checked start the server the program didn't open, so I had to go to the start menu and open "TVersity Media Server" from the "TVersity Media Server" folder. If this happens to you, once the program is open right click on the icon in the system tray and click "Start Sharing".]
Add Three Radio
With TVersity now installed you just have to add the link to Three Radio then head over to your Xbox. To do this click the + sign in the main window.

Put the following details in:
Type: Internet Audio
Audio URL: http://shoutcast.themediadudes.com:9034
Title: Three Radio
Click the Advanced button and select Transcode: when needed

Then click submit. [Note: If we're off air you may get an error here, if this happens just try adding it again when we're on-air]
Listen
With TVersity setup and running, you can now go to your XBox 360 and listen.
To listen in the dashboard:
Go to the media blade and go to music

Press X to change the media source. And select "TVersity on [pc name]"

Go to songs and go to three radio, click on it to play

To listen in the guide (in-game)
Its the same process just in a different place. First press the guide button and go down to select music

Go to "Tversity on [pcname]"

Go to songs
And then go to Three Radio

Click it to play

The mix is split into two. First mix being heavy and the second being a slight genre mismatch mix with more dubstep.

Three Radio Site Getting A Makeover

As you can see, there are a number of changes happening to the Three Radio website at the moment. We're hoping to make the site more interactive to get the listeners more involved, provide you with more information and make your listening experience more fun.

The DHA Show is on the horizon!

The DHA Show will be just like SFM but hosted by DHA! DHA will be hosting his own show on Wednesday evenings and more often if demanded, which is VERY likely. The show will contain Rock, Alternative, D&B, Electronica and Metal. Requests and call-in's will be taken but the show will be mainly run by DHA himself.
