Tune in to the Ant and Lex show this Friday at 9PM (UK Time) where we'll have a comptition for you to win 1kg of Cadbury Mini Eggs. To win, you have to guess how many Mini Eggs fit into a Three Radio mug. The person who guesses closest wins!
Conditions And Junk:
Entries are only allowed by phone on 07754408883 or Skype at threeradio. You can tell us your guess by another means but you will not be eligable to win. If two or more people guess the same amount, each person must say why they want the Mini Eggs and we'll chose the winner based on who has the best (funniest) reason. The winner must collect the eggs or pay for shipping. You are not eligable to win if you've won a prize in a Three Radio competition in the last six months. The weight (1kg) is approximate, the winner will receive 300 mini eggs.
The competition opens when first announced live on Three Radio on June 19th.

Good luck everyone.
Rock group Sugar Ray is gearing up to release their new album Music For Cougars on July 21st. I heard this song whilst listening through the new tracks for June 2009 an this one stood out as a nice summery song (although the message it sends itsn't that great, just enjoy the tune).
Below you can listen their first single from the new sew album; "Boardwalk".
It looks like Carolina Liar are about to make it here in the UK. Radio 1 is currently playing "Show Me What I'm Looking For" and claiming it's their debut single. They are of course sucking at music as always. Carolina Liar's first single - "I'm Not Over" was released on May 19th 2008 in America and we've been playing it on Three Radio since then. For this reason, "I'm Not Over" is my song of the week, so that this great song isn't overlooked. Don't get me wrong, "Show Me What I'm Looking For" is a great song, but be prepared for people blasting it out of their phones and ruining it like what happens to every great song that the UK charts get a hold of.
This is the second song to be released from Phoenix's forthcoming album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, which is still a mystery - no artwork or track listing has been released yet. The album is set to be released worldwide on May 25th and in the US on May 26th.
Until then here's 1901 by Phoenix...

Hahahaha! That's genius!
As listeners to past shows have heard, every now and then we talk about some sort of musical talent found on the internet. Some of those may be accidental and not talented, such as the Beefy craze, or the rap of the Kersal Massive; but we've included such things as song covers on the Ant and Lex show which have been found on Youtube.
Well just looking at random videos on Youtube yesterday evening I came across this guy: Ronald Jenkees. From the first video I saw I got a good idea of what hes about, and basically he makes music using his Music Keyboard, backed up with beats created himself using FL Studio (Used by famous electronic music artists such as Benga and Skream).
He seems to have a good ear for musical composition which can be noted when he starts playing his songs on his Youtube videos, and the way he puts his music together is something I can relate to after dabbling in music production and definately makes his videos for an interesting watch. Now if im honest, the music he makes is not what I normally listen to, but his skills cannot be put down when talking about him. He claims to have not stuck with lessons, and has played by ear since a young child. This just shows how skills can be picked up and mastered without the need for expensive lessons and education.
His debut album is out and available in a hard copy from his web store, or alternatively if you just want the songs digitally you can buy them from the iTunes store, using the link on his website.
Anyway, check out his videos!
Dude, I mentioned this guy to you the other month!! Ronald Jenkees is amazing, check out my channel and see Stevie Jenkees ;)
Hmm sorry can't remember you saying. I saw that video after watching some of Ronalds videos... I did laugh out loud. :D
Stevie did that being deadly serious, he wasn't taking the piss!! Listen to 'Stay Crunchy' by Ronald, it's got an awesome riff to it!
As a non-Russian speaker, information about T9 is pretty sketchy. Last.fm thought it was a Chinese rock group, and Google thought I was interested in predictive texting. Basically they are a Hip Hop group from Russia, and my favourite of their songs (which is my Song of the Week for this week), is Ода нашей любви (Oda Nashei Lyubvi), which made it onto the soundtrack for the video game Grand Theft Auto: 4. Its featured on the Russian music station within the game called Vladivostok FM, and despite not even getting recognition on the Wikipedia page for the GTAIV soundtrack, is one of my favourite tracks from the game.
If you are in the UK or US, you can listen to the song using Last.fm by clicking here
Starting soon on Three Radio, in a 25 part feature we're going to be taking you through the best artists in the alphabet - from Augustana to Zebrahead (and some 3 Doors Down as well). Each week we'll play three songs from artists starting with that weeks letter, including our favourite bands, the most requested bands and the best new undiscovered band we think you'll like.
Wild Light formed in New Hampshire in 2005 after meeting in high school and made their name playing the clubs of Boston. Band member Timothy Kyle was previously a member of Arcade Fire, performing on their early EP. In late 2007 they supported the band on their European tour.

Fuck yeah

If you're paying attention you'll see that the ThreeRadio.net website has had a change round. We've reorganised thing to hopefully make it easier to find and listen to shows and find out information about Three Radio.
For those of you that are interested the site also now uses tableless CSS and is valid XHTML.
The Media Dudes website and blog has just had an overhaul. We hope this makes the blog easier to read and the videos & photos pages easier to find stuff on.
We're going to be adding the 'Projects' page soon which will have information on past, present and future thing we're working on.
For those of you that are into that sort of thing, the site now uses tableless css and is hopefully valid XHTML, there's still a few bugs to work out caused by this rich text editor we use to post blogs producing some dodgy code.
