TGI Friday's Style Jack Daniel's Sauce: Attempt One

Posted by Anthony on Thursday March 12th 2009 at 03:43.

We fell in love with the Jack Daniel's sauce that you can get at TGI Friday's so we've been trying to get a hold of some to have at home. The bottles of it you can buy in supermarkets just don't taste the same so we tried making our own using this recipie.

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Tabasco Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Jack Daniel's
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 4 beef bouillon cubes
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a small sauce pan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Allow to cool and use as a sauce on any grilled meat or fish -- especially salmon!

Result:

It's a lot closer than the bottled ons but it's still not the same. We concluded that we used too much tabasco sauce and/or worcestershire sauce. But we'll report more after testing it with some proper food.
